The Eaton’s Neck Fire Department recently held their 59th Annual Installation of Officers where the new officers were installed and members were recognized for their service.
Leading the Department is the new Chief Paul Boronow, who was installed along with First Assistant Chief Richard Rizzuti and Second Assistant Chief Steven Zulawski. Also taking their oaths of office were Captains Joseph Gallino and Peter Hluboky, and Rescue Squad Captain Walter Visco. The Lieutenants taking the oath were John Pokorny and Paul Rittenhouse, and Rescue Squad Lieutenant Michael Pinto.
Other Department officers include Fire Police Squad Captain Michael Falk, Fire Police Squad Lieutenant Richard Deters, Engineering Officer Arthur Angst, Chaplain Al Zelenka, Secretary Peter Schmidt, and Treasurer Bill Tschirhart.
Outgoing Chief Jerry Hehir was recognized for his dedicated service and leadership as chief from 2013-2014.
Captain Joseph Gallino was presented with the Firefighter of the Year Award and was recognized for his outstanding and dedicated service. Rescue Squad Ex-Captain Eric Schmierer was absent from the ceremony but was recognized for his selection as Firemedic of the Year. Ex-Chief Robert D’Amato, Jr. was recognized for 35 years of active service and Ex-Chief Jeffrey Sullivan was recognized for 25 years of active service.
