Our Department

The Eaton’s Neck Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services within the Eaton’s Neck Fire District which encompasses the entire unincorporated area of Eaton’s Neck in the Town of Huntington as well as the former Morgan estate in the Incorporated Village of Asharoken and includes Coast Guard Station Eatons Neck. The Eaton’s Neck Fire Department is a volunteer fire protection organization staffed entirely by volunteers. Volunteer members receive standardized training from both the Suffolk County Fire Academy and the Division of Emergency Medical Services of the Suffolk County Department of Health Services.

Through these standardized training programs, firefighters are trained to a minimum level of Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations and attain New York State certifications in these areas from the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Many members attain additional New York State certifications in the areas of apparatus operations, incident command systems, fire officer development, fire police, and incident safety. Members of the Rescue Squad are trained to a minimum level of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT) with several members trained to the Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) level. Medical personnel attain New York State certifications in these areas from the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services of the New York State Department of Health. Members of the Fire Police Squad have the powers of and render service as peace officers.

The Eaton’s Neck Fire Department operates two engines; a heavy rescue truck; two ambulances; a high water rescue truck; and several command and support vehicles. The Eaton’s Neck Fire Department is a certified ambulance service and holds an ambulance service certificate issued by the New York State Department of Health.
